Husk Chips
Husk Chips are used in our grow bags and a structural component used in potting mixes. During production, the husk is chipped, graded to sizes ranging from <7mm-24mm, washed, treated and dried. The high water retention and exceptional air porosity of Husk chips makes it an excellent component in growing media for a range of crops. It has a natural pH range of 5.5-6.8 which helps with nutrient availability and encourages a healthy root system. We press 5kg blocks or 200lt bales. 5kg equals 60lt+ at 100% Husk.

We ensure strict monitoring during the washing process to ensure cations K and Na are reduced. A sample from all orders are sent for an independent BaClâ‚‚ extraction test to measure exchangeable cations Ca, Mg, K and Na. The results are shared with the grower before delivery.
